Meritt Bois D'Arc Buffalo Ranch provides a unique backdrop to accent and highlight your wedding day with all the details that make it distinctly yours. We are able to host all your wedding needs from receptions, rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, engagement parties, bridesmaid luncheons, and other special events. Let the attention be on you and turn the details of your day over to us, including food and beverage, floral arrangements, cakes, transportation, entertainment, specialty linens, and décor.
WESTERN WEDDINGS
Come have your special day with an authentic western wedding/reception in our old west town of Buffalo Hill for something different and exciting. Feel free to wear your traditional clothing, western attire, or step back in time and let’s rent some authentic period clothing for the wedding party! Good food, dancing, gunfighter entertainment for your guests, if interested, rope the bride or groom, or have a duel with 45s! Outdoors . . . weather permitting . . . small groups of 100 or less. We even have a white shotgun for dad to carry!
ROMANTIC WEEKENDS
Bring your sweetheart to Meritt Bois D’Arc Buffalo Ranch for a hayride that takes you in the middle of the buffalo herd . . . perfect for pictures. Then enjoy a sunset guided horseback ride for two. Afterwards, you can enjoy a buffalo steak dinner, (premium grass-fed, home-grown steaks) with roasted sweet potatoes, squash medley, homemade dinner rolls, and dessert, eaten in the town of Buffalo Hill next to a roaring bonfire, accompanied by champagne or sparkling cider and the low murmur of Texas tunes in the background.
Next, you can retire to a romantic ranch suite, complete with jacuzzi garden tub and a Romeo and Juliet balcony to watch the Texas stars. A king-sized bed awaits you . . . perfect for snuggling in the cool of the night. Wake to a refreshing continental breakfast served in your suite and the sun rising over the Texas prairie.

FIELD TRIPS * DAY CAMPS
Bring the children and a sack lunch and “high tail it” to Meritt Bois D’Arc Buffalo Ranch and enjoy a day of fun and relaxation. This program is designed for school groups, daycare centers, private schools, church youth groups, and homeschoolers that want to enjoy a fun and informative day for the children.
Your day will include a hayride around the property to get a glance at those magnificent buffalo. Group photo to be taken with the buffalo in the background, to be given to the teacher. Activities include roping stations to test your skills, craft time, and a horse grooming-saddling demonstration at the town of Buffalo Hill. Also, enjoy an educational film on buffalo and guided games for the children (e.g.: bounce house, sack races, tug-of-war, relays). If you like, you can drop a line in one of our stocked fishing ponds (bring your own gear and bait). No license required.
